397.5 MCM CHICKADEE ACSR Conductor Cable 

A concentrically stranded conductor, ACSR incorporates hard-drawn 1350-H19 aluminum wire layers over a galvanized steel wire core. The core may be single or stranded (size-dependent), and the steel wire is corrosion-resistant via Class A or B galvanization. Designed to comply with transmission and distribution lines’ electrical and mechanical strength demands, ACSR delivers tailored configurations by combining specific quantities of aluminum and galvanized steel wires.

Chickadee Conductor Construction

A galvanized steel core is wrapped with layers of aluminum wires. 

Purpose:

Used as bare overhead conductors for power transmission and both primary and secondary distribution. 

Benefits:

Offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, allowing for greater spans compared to all-aluminum conductors. 

Design:

The variable core stranding allows for customization to achieve desired mechanical strength without compromising the conductor's current-carrying capacity (ampacity).
